Project Overview
I led the design and implementation of a seamless referral flow within an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, enhancing the user experience for medical professionals, including doctors, front desk staff, and nurses.
Process
I conducted interviews and surveys with medical professionals to understand their needs and pain points, focusing on enhancing user experience and visibility. Using these insights, I created and tested wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize and refine the referral flow. Feedback gathered through testing informed iterative design improvements, ensuring the final product met user needs and enhanced workflow efficiency.
💡 Key Features:
Referred Patient Button: Introduced a "Referred Patient" button to streamline access to referred patient information, improving workflow efficiency.
Referred Patient Screen: Designed an intuitive referred patient screen displaying comprehensive patient information from both intra-tenant and inter-tenant hospitals. Each referral is clearly labeled with the originating hospital, ensuring clarity and easy identification.
Customizable Options: Developed tailored options for newly referred patients, distinct from existing patient settings, to meet the specific needs of medical staff. This included configuring settings to adapt to various scenarios and user roles.
Conclusion
The enhanced referral flow streamlined the process for medical staff, reducing time spent navigating the system and improving the overall user experience. The clear differentiation of patient information based on referral sources enhanced clarity and usability, making it easier for medical professionals to access the necessary information quickly.
